When Big O Rentals in Grain Valley, Missouri decided to expand their equipment rental business into the concrete world, owners Jenny and Jeff Oehlschlaeger were taking a major step. With more than $250,000 invested in new equipment and a new line of service, they needed more than a product—they needed a trusted partner who would guide them through every step.

“The team spent two full days with us,” Jenny said. “They walked me through everything from start to finish—how to calibrate, how to adjust mixes for Missouri, and how to run the plant with confidence. It was like a family event.”

Jenny and Jeff’s family worked side by side with the Mix Right team during installation, learning the ins and outs of portable concrete production. Jenny said she appreciated that the team didn’t just hand over a manual—they took the time to teach.

“Between doing research myself and the Mix Right team teaching me, I learned about the world of concrete,” she said. “They could have just left the manual—but instead, they showed me exactly how everything worked.”

The Mix Right team also went above and beyond by connecting the Oehlschlaegers with another Mix Right customer in Texas, helping them source additional concrete trailers and share best practices across climates. That connection turned into a long-term professional relationship.

“You couldn’t network like this—it’s just incredible,” Jenny said. “They didn’t have to do any of that, but they did. We owe them a lot.

 

It’s not just about the equipment they sell, which has been great—we’ve had no problems—but about who they are and what they’re willing to do.”

Today, Big O Rentals continues to grow its concrete business using Mix Right equipment with confidence and pride. For Jenny, the experience reinforced that the right partner makes all the difference.

“This was a big leap of faith for us,” she reflected. “The Mix Right team made it something I could feel completely comfortable running, even on my own. That means everything.”
